Understanding SplashID Pro 9 Personal Licenses

SplashID Pro 9 can be used for free on multiple devices when you first create your account. This free mode is ideal for exploring the app, but it includes a few limitations and does not provide the full Pro experience. You can upgrade to a Pro license at any time to unlock all features, or even purchase licenses for others such as family members or team members.

This article explains how licenses work, the types available, and where you can purchase them.

Free vs. Pro License

A new SplashID Pro 9 account starts in free mode. In this mode, the following restrictions apply:

  • No syncing between installations

  • Maximum of 25 records per installation

  • No automatic cloud backups for Cloud Sync users

  • No ability to share records with other users

Upgrading to a Pro license removes all of these limitations.

Ways to Get a Pro License

You can obtain a Pro license through any of the following methods:

Purchase a Subscription

You may buy monthly or yearly subscriptions directly from SplashID, the App Store, or the Google Play Store.

Migrate from SplashID Safe

If you have an existing SplashID Safe (version 8) account with a Pro license, your license can be migrated to SplashID Pro 9.  Please refer to the migration articles in our help center to understand how to migrate your SplashID Safe account to SplashID Pro 9.

Lifetime License (One-time Purchase)

Direct purchase of one-time license options in SplashID Pro 9 will be introduced in the future. These licenses will remain valid as long as SplashID Pro 9 is available for download and use.
  1. Valid until SplashID Pro 9 is available for public use
  2. License applies only to SplashID Pro 9; future SplashID editions will require an upgrade fee
  3. Existing SplashID Safe lifetime users can migrate their license to SplashID Pro 9 for free until January 31, 2026, or later if extended
Lifetime licenses are currently offered for purchase in SplashID Safe, our previous generation password manager. These one time purchase licenses can be migrated to SplashID Pro 9 for free. Please refer to the migration articles in our help center to understand how to migrate your SplashID Safe account to SplashID Pro 9.

Please contact support by submitting a ticket if you have a lifetime license in SplashID Safe and want to apply it to your SplashID Pro 9 account for free.
