WiFi Sync: Setup and Usage Guide

WiFi Sync allows you to sync your SplashID Pro 9 data between devices over a local network — no cloud required. Both WiFi and wired (Ethernet) connections are supported.

Prerequisites

  1. All devices must be running SplashID Pro 9 version 9.4.6 or above.

  2. Both devices must be connected to the same local network (same WiFi or wired network).

  3. You must be signed in to the same SplashID Pro 9 account on both devices.

  4. Required permissions must be granted on both devices (on the WiFi sync screen, see the Permissions section under This device for platform-specific steps).

  5. Ensure firewalls on your devices or router are not blocking SplashID Pro 9 traffic.

Setting Up

This Device

  • Configure your device for WiFi sync — set a recognizable device name, control visibility to other devices, and view your network, Device ID, User ID, and Port details.

  • Use the Refresh WiFi Setup option to restart sync services if you experience connection issues.

Adding Devices

  • Open the My other devices section and click Refresh to scan for available devices on the network.

  • Discovered devices appear at the end of the list with a + Add button.

  • Click + Add to add a device to your trusted list. This is a one-time setup — once added, the device will also appear on your other devices after a successful WiFi sync.

Syncing

Starting WiFi Sync

You can initiate WiFi sync in three ways:

Method 1: From the My Records Screen

  1. Navigate to the My Records screen (accessible via the application menu).

  2. Click or tap the WiFi sync button located on top of the record list.

  3. This will take you to the Sync screen in Settings, where you can select the device.

Method 2: From the Sync Screen in Settings

  1. Go to the My other devices section.

  2. Click the Sync now button on the device you want to sync with.

  3. The app will search for the device on the network and start the sync automatically.

Method 3: Connect Manually

  1. Recommended as a troubleshooter if the device is not found automatically.

  2. If the device is not found automatically, the app will switch to the Connect manually screen.

  3. You can also open it directly by clicking Connect manually in the My other devices section.

  4. Enter the IPv4 or IPv6 address of the target device and click Connect.

  5. Once the device is found, the sync will start.

Sync Direction

  • Update both ways — syncs data in both directions (default).

  • Overwrite — you can override to push or pull data from one device to the other.

  • You can change the sync direction from the device options by clicking Show options on the desired device.

  • The selected direction is retained until you change it.

Sync Summary

  • After a successful sync, you can view a summary showing items Sent and Received by data type.

Troubleshooting

If WiFi sync is not working, verify the following:

  • Both devices are signed in with the same SplashID Pro 9 account.

  • Both devices are on the same WiFi or wired network.

  • All required permissions have been granted.

  • No firewalls are blocking SplashID Pro 9 traffic.

  • The device is visible to others (the “Show this device to others” toggle is enabled).

If issues persist:

  • Click Refresh WiFi Setup under This device to restart the broadcast and discovery services.

  • Click Refresh in My other devices to re-scan the network.

  • Try Connect manually by entering the target device’s IP address directly.
