WiFi Sync: This Device

Displays information about your current device and provides options to configure how it participates in WiFi sync.

Name

  • The device name is displayed to other users on the network during WiFi sync.

  • You can edit the name by clicking the edit icon next to it.

  • Choose a recognizable name to help others identify your device easily.

Show This Device to Others

  • Use this toggle to control whether your device is visible to other devices on the network.

  • Enabled (On): Your device will be discoverable and will accept WiFi sync requests from other devices.

  • Disabled (Off): Your device will not be discoverable and will not accept any WiFi sync requests.

Refresh WiFi Setup

  • Click the refresh icon to restart the WiFi sync setup on this device.

  • This will re-initialize the broadcast and discovery services and also refresh the device addresses.

  • When to use: If you are experiencing any communication or connection issues during WiFi sync, use this option to troubleshoot.

Network

  • Displays the currently connected network.

  • If connected via Ethernet, it will show “Connected to ethernet”.

  • If connected via WiFi, it will show the WiFi network name (requires location permission to be enabled) or “Connected to wifi” if the name cannot be determined.

Device ID

  • A unique identifier for this device.

  • This ID is displayed on other devices when they discover your device on the network.

  • Useful for identification: If multiple devices share the same name, the Device ID can be used to distinguish between them.

User ID

  • A unique identifier for your user account.

  • This ID must be the same on all your devices for them to detect, connect, and WiFi sync with each other.

  • If you are signed in with the same SplashID Pro 9 account on all devices, the User ID will match automatically.

Port

  • Displays the port number being used by SplashID Pro 9 for WiFi sync communication.

  • Important: This port should not be used by other applications or services on your device, as it may interfere with the WiFi sync feature.

  • If you suspect a port conflict, try using the Refresh WiFi Setup option to resolve it.

Permissions

  • Displays the platform-specific permissions required for WiFi sync to function properly on your device.

  • Tap the info icon next to Permissions to view the detailed steps for granting the necessary permissions on your operating system.
