ANSWER: If you use Cloud Sync, all you need to do is to download our latest 8.4.x PC/Mac Desktop app from here:
https://www.splashid.com/downloads
and install it on your PC/Mac computer, then login and all your data should sync from Cloud to the newly installed PC/Mac Desktop app.
(NOTE: As of time of this writing in April 2026, latest versions are 8.4.2 for PC Desktop app, released in Dec 2025 and 8.4.5 for Mac Desktop app, released in Jan 2025.)
If you use WIFi Sync, and have been syncing the SplashID Desktop app with 1 or more mobile device apps, then please note the correct steps to resync are the following:
1) Download and install latest 8.4.x Desktop app (from same link as above - https://www.splashid.com/downloads ) on your new PC or Mac computer. You can see supported Windows/macOS versions

Note: Do
not install 8.4.4 iOS/iPadOS app from Mac App Store on your Mac, if using an Apple chip Mac. Use the proper 8.4.5 Mac Desktop download from our website.
2) Then login to SplashID Safe Desktop 8.4.x app with same email ID and password used in mobile app(s), and set Desktop app Sync Settings to "Device overwrites desktop" for one sync (on Windows PC), or "Mobile Device Overwrites Mac" for one sync (on Mac).
Please note you must NOT import any data backups into the newly installed SplashID Safe 8.4.x Desktop app, as that will mess up your data (cause duplicated/etc) once you do a WiFi Sync.
3) Then sync your SplashID Safe iOS/iPadOS/Android mobile app with the newly installed Desktop app, and all your data should sync to the Desktop app.

4) You may then need to go into Desktop app Settings, Sync Settings again, and change it back to the default "Synchronize" sync setting.
