Taking Screenshots or Videos on Windows, macOS, iOS, and iPadOS

To help diagnose app problems, SplashData support may ask you to send a screenshot or a video from your computer or mobile device. Below are instructions for each platform.

iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch

Take a Screenshot

  • Hold down the top (On/Off) button, then press the Home button.

  • If that doesn’t work, press both buttons simultaneously and release.

  • The screen will flash, and the image will be saved to your Camera Roll album.

From there, you can sync it back via iTunes, email it, or share it as you would any other photo.

Important Note

Do not use Mac Mail to send screenshots. It compresses and reduces the image size. Instead, use alternatives such as:

  • Webmail (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook.com, etc.)

  • MS Outlook or Thunderbird

  • A cloud service such as iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or Box.
