If you forget or misplace your SplashID Safe 8.x password and enter the wrong password 10 times, your account will be locked. This is a security measure to protect your records.
Unlocking your account
If you contact us directly, we can unlock your account, giving you ten more attempts to remember your password. Please note that SplashData does not have access to your password, so you must try to recall it yourself. If you prefer, we can delete your account so you can sign up again.
Deleting your account
If we delete your account, all of your SplashID records will be lost. However, you may still be able to restore them from a backup file if you have one and know the password for it.
Important
In No Sync and WiFi Sync modes, entering the wrong password ten times
will permanently delete all local records. On PC and Mac, this also deletes all local backups. Before attempting anything else, copy your backup files from the default backup folders to a safe location. Instructions for locating the default backup folders are available here:
SplashID Safe 8.x Desktop apps – Backup/Restore options.
