SplashID Safe 8.4.x Mac Desktop app crash on WiFi Sync

SplashID Safe 8.4.x Mac Desktop app crash on WiFi Sync

PROBLEM: When I try to WiFi Sync between latest 8.4.x iPhone/iPad app and 8.4.x Mac Desktop app, Mac Desktop app crashes.
Trying again causes a crash again. Why does it happen, and how to solve it, please?

SOLUTION: This crashing on WiFi Sync is a known, rare issue that exists from April 2021 onward.
It has a known, easy fix. However, the fix requires you to choose 1 app to keep data from, 1 to lose it from.

If you want to keep Mac Desktop app data, lose mobile app data, see Solution #1 below.
If you want to lose Mac Desktop app data, keep mobile app data, see Solution #2 below.

Solution #1 -- Keep Mac Desktop app data, lose mobile app data -->

1) First, please backup data in both 8.4.x apps, Desktop & mobile - Export to vID file, SVID file.
2) Then check your 8.4.x Desktop app version - if it is not latest 8.4.5, update it first:

3) Then quit 8.4.x iPhone/iPad app, and delete it from your iPhone or iPad.
4) Reinstall 8.4.x app to iPhone or iPad, making sure not to get our other, newer unrelated Classic or 9.x app.
5) Relogin to 8.4.x mobile app, then set Desktop app Settings, Sync Settings to "Mac Overwrites Mobile Device" for one sync.
6) Then WiFi Sync 8.4.x mobile app to get data back to it.

And then all next WiFi Syncs should not crash Mac Desktop app anymore, and should work fine.

Solution #2 -- Lose Mac Desktop app data, keep mobile app data -->

1) First, please backup data in both 8.4.x apps, Desktop & mobile - Export to vID file, SVID file.
3) Now Mac Desktop app should have your data again.

And then all next WiFi Syncs should not crash Mac Desktop app anymore, and should work fine.
