How to Print Records in SplashID Safe 8.x?

SplashID Safe -- How to print your data

Printing your SplashID Safe records is best done using the SplashID Safe 8.4.x PC or Mac Desktop apps. You can either print directly from the app or export your data to a CSV file and print using a spreadsheet program.

Method 1: Print Directly from the Desktop App

  1. Log in to the latest SplashID Safe 8.4.x PC/Mac Desktop app.

  2. Filter the view to All Types / All Categories with the search box cleared, so all records are visible.

  3. Click the Select button in the middle pane.

  4. Click the Select All button in the bottom toolbar.

  5. To print:

    • On Mac: go to the File menu and choose Print.

    • On PC: click the SplashID padlock icon to open the Application menu, then choose Print.

  6. Choose whether to print one record per page or multiple records per page.

  7. If the output does not look good in Portrait mode, try switching to Landscape orientation.

Tip: If you only want to print records from a specific Type or Category, filter them first and then follow the same steps.

Method 2: Export to CSV and Print with a Spreadsheet

  1. Export your data to a CSV file from the SplashID Safe PC/Mac Desktop app or mobile app.

    • On iPhone/iPad, export to Dropbox or email the CSV file to yourself since direct file system access is restricted.

  2. Save the CSV file in a known folder on your computer.

  3. Open the file using a spreadsheet program such as:

    • Microsoft Excel

    • Google Sheets

    • Apple Numbers (Mac)

    • OpenOffice or LibreOffice

  4. Reorder, resize, or hide columns as needed to prepare a clean layout for printing.

  5. Adjust the print orientation to Landscape if Portrait formatting looks poor.

Note: If importing the CSV into Microsoft Excel, renaming the file extension from .csv to .txt before opening can make the import process easier.
