If your SplashID Safe 8.4.x apps show corrupted Types, field names, or Categories but the actual record contents are still fine, and you are using Cloud Sync, you can reset them to defaults.
This method works only for Cloud Sync users (not for WiFi Sync or No Sync).
Export all current data in the SplashID Safe Mac/PC Desktop app to a vID file/folder.
On Mac: Use the File menu in the top menu bar.
On Windows: Use the main/Application menu in the top left.
Save the exported file in a safe location.
Open your browser and sign in to the SplashID Safe Web App: https://www.splashid.com/login
Go to the Account page in the left menu.
Under Maintenance, click the small blue Reset (two arrows) icon labeled “Reset SplashID types and categories.”
A window will display the default 2 Categories and 17 Types that your account will be reset to.
Click the blue Reset button to confirm.
In the Web App, go to Edit Types and Edit Categories to ensure they are restored to defaults.
Sync your devices and check that the reset applies across all SplashID Safe apps (Desktop and Mobile).
Resetting restores the default SplashID sets, without affecting your custom-defined ones.
