SplashID Safe 8.4.x - force a sync from PC Desktop app to Web

If your SplashID Safe 8.4.x Windows PC Desktop app has the latest and correct data and you need to push it up to the SplashID Web app (Cloud Sync), follow the steps below.

Steps to Force Sync from Windows PC Desktop to Web App

  1. Log in to the latest SplashID Safe 8.4.x Windows PC Desktop app (latest version as of September 2025 is 8.4.1).

    • First, back up your data: export all your records to a vID file/folder using the Export option in the main/Application menu (top left). This ensures you have a safe copy of your data.

  2. In the left-hand menu, click Settings, then click Sync Settings.

  3. Change the sync option to Local WiFi Sync.

  4. Return to the main record list by clicking the SplashID Safe tab in the left pane.

  5. Go back into Settings > Sync Settings again.

  6. Change the sync option back to SplashID Cloud Services.

  7. Click OK to exit the sync settings or click the SplashID Safe tab. Wait for the Cloud Sync to finish and upload your data to the Web app.

  8. Open the Web app in your PC browser at https://www.splashid.com/login.

    • Log in using the same SplashID account email (in lowercase) as in your Windows PC app.

    • Supported browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera, Brave, or Safari (Mac). Do not use iOS or Android mobile browsers for the Web app.

  9. If you use SplashID Safe on other devices, you may also need to:

    • Log out and log back in on any additional 8.4.x PC/Mac Desktop apps.

    • Delete and reinstall any 8.4.x mobile apps from the App Store or Play Store, then log in again.
